Dear Colleagues,

We currently serve as the Guest Editors of the new Special Issue, “Sport Technology to Improve Heath, Performance and Fan Experience”, to be published in the Global Clinical Engineering Journal. The increasing intersection between sports and technology has led to significant innovations, not only in enhancing athletic performance but also in promoting health and transforming the experience of fans and consumers. Our special issue, titled "Sports Technologies to Enhance Health, Performance, and Fan Experience," seeks to explore these innovations and their implications for the sports world and society at large. The primary objective of this issue is to gather original research and case studies that investigate the impact of sports technologies across various domains. We aim to highlight how technological tools and equipment are being utilized to improve public health, optimize athletic performance, and enrich the experience of sports fans. To guide potential authors, we have identified several thematic areas of interest that may be addressed in this special issue: Technologies for Health Improvement: The development and application of technological equipment and tools that assist in injury prevention, physical rehabilitation, and health monitoring for athletes. Studies on wearable devices that monitor vital signs and physical activity levels, both for individuals and entire populations, contribute to public health promotion. Sports Performance Analysis: Technology-based tools and methodologies for sports performance analysis, including the use of artificial intelligence, big data, and machine learning. Case studies demonstrate how technology is being used to personalize training and improve the performance of athletes across various disciplines. Fan and Consumer Experience in Sports: Technological innovations that are transforming the way fans interact with sports events, such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and 360-degree live streaming. Equipment and tools that enhance accessibility and consumer engagement, including digital platforms, second-screen applications, and smart devices. We invite researchers, sports industry professionals, and technologists to submit original articles, literature reviews, case studies, and critical commentaries that address these and related topics. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive and multifaceted perspective on the growing role of technology in sports.
